Tau Kappa Epsilon Softball Classic 2009
When: April 25, 2009 10am - 3pm
Where: Brookside Park Softball Stadium
Ashland, OH 44805
The members of Tau Kappa Epsilon faced off against their Alumni on April 25, 2009 at Brookside Park Softball Stadium. The event was the first event of its kind and due to the great turn out it will become an annual spring time event. The day served as a way to reconnect with alumni and find out how they have been. Some TKE alumni have not visited Ashland University in over ten years.
The day started out with a great game of softball where the teams were divided up into alumni and actives. The game went for seven innings with the alumni beating the actives 16-10 in a 5th inning rally. A plaque and the game ball are going to be displayed in the house and the alumni hold the bragging rights for one year.
The day concluded with a great picnic where everyone caught up and talked about how life was in college and after college. It was great to see how the bonds of brotherhood could jump generations and make total strangers into brothers within hours. Later that evening all of the Tekes had a private event only open to brothers of Tau Kappa Epsilon.
Thanks for the event goes to John Anderson, who planned the event with the help of Troy Miller. It was a great example of good fraternity.
